swing arm will be return as is. i took it over to a fellow who does my aluminum work and he also said he wouldnt touch it. to much liability.

the arms are back from the burn off oven and i should be coating them just as fast i can. i can do a real crappy job and have them done in 10 minutes if youd like...lmao:blah:

haha some how i dont think i'd like the end results of that :eek2: .

Thanks for the update :)

thanks for taking the time to do that. i guess i'll just run this till she snaps in half on me lol. i've actually seen guys run them the whole season with cracks. i guess we'll see!

i couldnt send a rider out on a cracked part, and i couldnt try and fix something that in my heart know that will fail possibly leading to an injury and even more damage to the quad. Im almost certain these cracks extend much further then what is showing through the paint, they usually do:p

i agree, chances are the cracks do go beond the silver PC. but who knows how long i've been riding with it like this? i've always been a man to take risk's :blah: . might as well coat it and see what comes out. i'll deffinently be sending you a new one for some PC around Feb.

think of it as job security :p

12-12-2006, 03:12 PM
won't be job security if you are paralyzed from a crash due to it breaking or even worse...

you are putting pappy in a bad spot here...he can send you back the swing arm and have the liability of giving you back a part that is dangerous to use, knowing you are planning on running it that way(dumb move)...or he can keep it and be called a thief, but knowing you are safe because you are not running a broken swing arm. those are both losing situations for him..

be the upstanding guy and get a new swingarm and not let pappy burn...

fast_man58

understood, but i dont see how it puts Pappy in a bad spot? he is in no way liable for any actions or doings on my part.

and yes, dumb move on my part maybe, but its been like this for quite some time (from the looks of it) and that was when i was racing MX. in the winter, all i'll be doing is riding around in a circle on the ice. and to be honest, getting hurt really doesnt bother me

i dont have money for a new swing arm. unless sombody planted me a money tree in the back yard. im doing a total rebuild and a new swinger isnt in the budget.

i've also yet to see a crack like this in the YFZ swingarm and have only seen a select handfull physically crack in half. look, i may be a complete newbe here, but im a reputable person on the YFZ sites.

if its really going to be a massive issue, send it back

no worries on my end, the swingarm will be shipped back untouched by me. what you chose to do with it is 100% out of my control. i just can not in good faith do anything to it include making any form of repair.

i will keep searching out a replacement for you, but that is all i can do. as far as the crack, ive seen many that have snapped sending the rider for a wild ride. i will sleep much better knowing i in no way added to any injury you may sustain:p

very well then...how will i be refunded for the cost of PC for the swinger?

Pappy
12-12-2006, 03:38 PM
I will put a check in the box, no worries there:p
