what would you choose?

..i supposse that in this December i will can get a "new" quad

firtstly i was going to get a Banshee, thenGas Gas 240-300 2 stroke, and now 1 friend has localizated to me 4 trx 250r for sale in Spain

and now i have a question:

is better to get a '88-'89 250r and pay a little more, or get a '86-'87 250r cheaper than the '88-'89?

I would get a gas-gas 300, aren't they street legal in spain???? Both 86/87 and 88/89 trx250r's are good choices, the 86/87 can be made to be the same as a 88/89 with +1 forward a-arms and a -1 swingarm.

86/87 is not as good as the 88/89. I'd go for the newer ones. Almost everyone I have had input from says get the newer ones.

Not quite sure if your just joking around or trying to be a jerk or not but I never said they were junk. Everyone I know says the newer ones feel like better bikes than the older models. The older ones don't handle the same but are still good bikes. The newer ones are preferred though.

I'm not in this argument, but there is no reason to say "the not so bright people". That's just going to upset them and cause you guys to go back and forth arguing. In the mean time, your ruining the thread.

Now, my opinion about your question don. All years are great. Just most people like the 88-89 model. Most of the time your going to modify the a-arms and swinger to set it up the way you want it anyways. If you can get the 86-87 model cheaper....DO IT!! Save yourself some money. You'll need it for the mods.

however, although the 86 & 87s are far from junk (and i mean that with all sincerity- dont want people getting confused thinking im being sarcastic), i would prefer the 88/89 myself... unless of course you were unable to find a quality 88/89... obviously a clean and un-adulterated 87 would be better than a trashed 89
