Fill it up with Kersosene how?

I think he is talking about the old mechanics trick of putting alittle kerosene or diesel in with the engine oil and letting it "clean" the internals.

Which 450?
01-12-2007, 04:09 AM
yes, I got a transmission funnel (long one) then jammed it in the fill tube, and filled the engine with kero, jumped on the bike and rocked it around to slosh it around, then drained it, its alot cheaper then just changing the oil half a dozen times.

Hey cool! What part of Germany? We spent 2 weeks in Garmisch at the Army resort and toured via bus all over the southern part of Bavaria. Really had a blast. Chat later as my bus is about ready to take us back to camp in the Middle East. Once I et to my main base then I can chat more.

Hey wingnut,

I know the Army resort near Garmisch, it`s a beuatiful part of Germany.
I live in the part of Thueringen, in a small vilage beetween Erfurt and Coburg (Bavaria) and this is 350km from Garmisch.

In two week i get my trailor and than I can put the ATV to all parts of Germany or the neighbouring countries.

best regards Florian

Hi Florian,
Ahh cool! Sorry about the delay. Yes we really enjoyed the beauty of Bavaria. Zugspitze really tripped me out. Also went to Kelsteinhaus (Eagles Nest), Benedictine Monk school,(great schnapps), Neushwanstein, ummm his other castle (I'll remember later of course) oh that's right, it's a palace. Linderhof Palace. Had to visit BMW in Munich and Audi in Ingolstat. The greenery just was too awesome. Always thought they used a green filter to make the photos so green but that definately isn't the case. Once I finish in Iraq I want to see if I can find a contract there so maybe we can meet sometime in the future. Just don't know if I could bring my Kawi with me or get a new one via military sales.

So did you get your new trailer? That would be very fun to travel and ride in Germany. Oops time to get going on a report so I'll check with you another time. Take care and have a great day! Wayne Oh hey, I was gonna buy me a black 08 750 because the fuel injection but had to cancel the trip I had planned. The Misses had gall bladder removed just after we got back to the US. Is it true that the black 750's with the red racing stripes are faster? :D Just kidding around.

Hey Footy, nice picture. I see a mirror on the left side...are you able to operate on the roads in NC? Cool if you can. Looks like Utah recently passed something like this but limitied to towns of less than 7500 and not in Salt Lake country. Also noticed something that looks like a dial or ??? clamped to the right side of the front carrier. Might be a turn signal I'm lookin at. Oh it's probably a shock adjustment by the size of the hose going into the body panel. Thanks for posting, good lookin ride!

Wingnut,
I tried that mirror for 1 ride and decided that it was useless. No road ridding in NC at all for atv's. That is a rezi for the elka rear shock. Thanks for your comments.

Hey, how did you get the Warn bumper to work on yours? I want one for my 08 650i. Did you have to modify anything and what part # did you use?

mudlover
03-24-2009, 08:23 PM
In 07 they changed the front lower frame a bit by adding a small gusett in one corner of each side making impossible to install the kit as is.
There are two U-bolts for each lower mount of the Warn bumper, I could use the rear u-bolt but because of the gusett you can't use the supplied u-bolt for the front as it is too short.
I just used longer ones for the front of each lower mount.
It is really quite strong and I have no problem grabbing the Warn bumper and lifting the quad.
Here is a pic of the mounts I'm talking about

mudlover
03-24-2009, 08:27 PM
I forgot about the fact that you can't see the u-bolts that I'm talking about, all you see is the side bolts. I never did anything about the front one that looks missing.
It's really quite easy to get it too work and I believe it offers more rad protection than the Highlifter bumper.

b2™
03-24-2009, 09:18 PM
Kool, appreciate that. It looks alot better than the high lifter too! I was wondering what I would have to do to get it to work. Thanks!

Oh did you use the 750i or the 05 650 one?

Here is a picture you guys might apreciate, it's my 06' 650 SRA ridden by my 5'1" 115# girlfriend. She's passing my stuck buddy and his Outlaw IRS on th famous "Banshee Hill" at Winchester Bay OR. He made it half way with paddles, she passed him in the trees, no paddles! There was a group of 450cc guys at the top laughing their asses off, and the crowd at the bottom was abuzz with "she's not going to do it is she?" and "that was awsome!"

Not too many good pics of tires.
Why do you ask b2?

b2™
04-21-2009, 03:54 PM
Just curious, I've been looking at different tires for when I do my 2" lift and my Zillas wear out. Never heard of those tires that's why I asked.

mudlover
04-21-2009, 10:54 PM
The Mudbugs are a good mud tire. Not as heavy as most but they do have really good tread for digging and cleaning themselves.

When travelling at very slow speeds upto about 5km's on hard pack, they are pretty ruff but after that, you don't notice it at all.
They wear very well and are a long lasting tire made by Maxxis.
