polish stock oil cover

i have herd of people sanding off the powder coating then polishing there side cases and oil covers has anyone done this and have pics on how it turns out

It's not powdercoating, it's just paint. Use paint thinner then sand the piss out of it, then start polishing. I haven't done it yet but I have polished my exhaust, I'll look for some pics.

here's my exhaust. I know it ain't a oil cover but so you just get an idea on how shiney it's suppose to be.
