they will work on powder but im sure it will be harder with heaver snow because skid plates make you float on top...

Mann... I sure do miss them good old days of riding in the snow there in PA....

As for riding in the snow, you want to be as tall as possible... Like going with 22's in the rear would be a good idea.

(I also recommend a 13 tooth front sprocket if you go with the 22's)

If you venture out on those 18's... Give us an update.

i live in philly and we seem to get alot of snow, so i left my stock tires and rims alone, and got a whole new set for mx. Im sure u will be alright unless u are trying to go "off the beaten path" if you no what i mean.

ive ran 18s in the snow and they suck if you try going off a packed "path" u just get hung up on skid plate. it sits to low with 18s. i run holeshot hds 20s in the snow and it works god for me.

bring some rope to get unstuck because you will get stuck, i was getting stuck with my 20s in about 1.5feet of snow

I have 20'' holeshot hd's and have gotten around pretty good so far in the snow this year. The deepest I've been in was about 1-1.5 feet of powder and still wasn't having too hard of a time.
I admit though, I usually follow where the sleds have been since the snow is so nicely packed ><
