you will need shims. i would get a manual as well. if you don't have any idea how to do it, it will be tough.

The Stage I does not always require shims per the video. The stage II does though. What have you experienced with this?
Thanks

I like that one better. It's more in laymens terms. Thank you!

The dealer will do it for $165 in labor but they are two weeks booked up. I'm just nervous about the valve adjusting. Might as well try it though. I can always bring it to the dealer if I get lost.

It's not hard just take your time ... Did you but the shims? You will need the to dial your valve lash in

No I haven't bought the shims yet. I'll get everything I can done up to that point. With any luck I won't need them. Not counting on it though. I'm going to slop around in the mud tomorrow, then dive in on Sunday so it will be ready for the following weekend.

i doubt your shims will be on in the first place. some are, but most are not from what i hear. mine were not and i put a cam in only a few hours after i bought the bike. i just bought the hotcam shim kit, it makes life much easier.

Just take your time and you will be done before you know it. also The shims might be spot on but there is always that chance you will get it broke down and setting there waiting on the shims to come in. Would be good to have anyway, you might need them another day. Goodluck

Ok so i swapped out the cam. The valves were still within tolerance so no shimming was needed. During the break in it was sputtering at higher RPM (Not the limiter) The jets must be off. I have a Dynojet jet kit on it now. Any advice on jetting for Altitude of Sacramento, CA, Stage I cam, cut air box and DMC full exhaust (Pro-Quiet) Thanks!
