i added clearcoat to this silvervein ...hoping it would add even more durability to the powder. that grab bar was well worn .

The colors on the sites are just color bars and in no way give detail to the colors........for example there is very little difference in the color bar for red,,,,,,and lollypop red translcent. Sorry:(

thats my yella up there and its colored in honda civic si blue. so many think you have to powder to be durable. ya dont. as long as you do a pro job with auto paint preped good and baked in a booth it holds up just as good and looks better. this winter the whole frame will be that blue. just need shock socks now, i dont care for red on yellow. not bashing red i just dont like it with yellow. what do ya'll think of the color blue with the yeller:)

Jay300ex
09-18-2002, 05:09 AM
That would be a cool scheme. I was going to have my ex done with that blue prism and have the minor bolt ons and such done the perrty purple or a dark scarlet. would look neat with black plastics and a nice hood =).

my frame is startin 2 dull a little bit, i want to give it a quick spray, any suggestions on what kinda paint to use. i am also wondering what is originally used, what kinda paint, or is it powder coated

Pappy
09-19-2002, 05:09 PM
i do believe they use an epoxy paint but not positive. if you plan on keeping your ride...get it powdercoated from wherever ya can. paint is good and will last if you have it done proffesionally.

anybody know if you can get a high temp. clear coat for powdercoating. what i want to do is clear over a sandblasted 250r sparks sxhaust. it is old and rusted and i dont want to buy a new one. i thought it would be pretty cool to clear over it after sandblasting it. i think it'll look good but i cant find a powder that will stand up to heat like that?

I do some powdercoating on the side my self. Those are nice pics and good jobs. Where do you all get your colors from? any good websites to buy powder from. If anybody has any parts they would like done....small parts for now....nothing big, Let me know. I will do them for really cheap, as i am still just doing it for the experience. prob do them for cost of material. I can send you pics of some thing if interested. Email me at rap169@psu.edu . Like i said..im more interested in experience than profit. And i like some of those ideas and am interested in some of those colors if anybody could tell me where they buy their powder.

yes...anodizing would be best....but the stock sproket is steel and the last time i checked you cant anodize steel. it can however be parkerized if durability is an issue and not looks. parkerizing is used on steel for the ultimate in protection....it aint pretty but it works very well.
