How fast will your 300s go? and what mods you got on it

Below is my calculations (see attached image):

Stock will get 55-56mph because of the expansion of the baloon tires when rotating fast increasing the circumference.

14/36 is hypothetical. I'm not sure you could hit the 8850 rev limit with that gearing on dirt with 22" 4-ply knobbies. ;)

My mods are in my signature.

nice man got any pics?

how fast would a 300ex go with a white brothers pipe

i got a 03 with a white brothers pipe not sure what else yet never even got it home yet i live in canada and my uncle picked it up for me in the states, i wasn't talking to him yet because it cost alot of money for long distance so i'll have wait till he gets back to see what all is on it

PS how do i change my sig? lol

55mph
It's not about the pipe.

More power will get you to the rev limit faster.. but it will be the same until you change 1 of 3 things.

Rev Limit
Gearing
Tire Diameter

Up to a reasonable level of course. 14/32 gearing isn't goig to get yo you 90mph.. not enough HP. But 13/36 on a stocker will hit 60 easily but you're gonna lose torquiness. It's a tradeoff.

Go up to "User CP" button above the ATVRiders banner at the top of the page. Go to the profile tab. About half way down the page is the spot for the signature.

Oh here's a pic. Not completely up to date.. still looks the same, jsut differnt rims (Baja's) on the back, and a usually run Razr'2's up front.. those are my tires for the rocky areas. Beastly 6'ply Bandits.. lol Those things gotta be 20+ lbs each.. lol. And shock covers are off for storage. Other than that, it's the same.

Nothing special.. but she does the job, and does it well.

How you like the "pink" nerf nets.. lol. Used to be red.. 7 years ago.. haha. Need new ones w/ replacable nets.

Rev box mod to increase your rev limit +1000.

Pipe, filter, jetkit, modified CDI +1000rpm rev limit.. and you should be set. Later you could add an all-around cam to move your power curve up a tad.

FST along with many other engine builders can mod the stock rev box for under $100. Or you can buy one with ignition advance and an increased rev limit.

Your not going too.

Equal riders.. mine won't keep up with a slightly modified suzuki or kawi 400.

however with jsut a few mods. HC piston, CDI, CAM, pipe, filter, porting.. you can keep up good enough.

fastest i've gone on a 250/300 is 78 this was clocked im not sure how accurate but i do know that on a stock quad getting to 65 mph you will need some serious motor work to be able to pull the gearing needed and or you will lose alot of torque. When i was clocked at 78 it was on my 406 stroke motor with big valve head and 14/32 gearing on 18" tires with unlimited rev cdi i do not know how many rpms i was pushing but i do know it was enough to make me sweat blowing my motor.

LOL. He's talking about a 300R (modified 250r 2-stroke) not a 300ex. ;) He cheats.. lol.

What about this combo, you seem to know a bit about some 300ex's.

Big gun rev limiter, 15-36 gearing, 350 big bore, +4mm stroked crank, port/polish, 420 lift camshaft(mid and top end pull), yoshimura full exhaust, oversized intake valves and exhaust valves, 8 inch rims in back 10 in front, (Razrs all around), K&N air filter with no air box, 36mm Mikuni carb with a 260 main jet and maybe something I found off ebay i believe to enhanced speed, and some other things it connects to your battery or some crap I don't know about that but it has good ratings??? Get back to me.

Whew.. that's gotta be tight at the countershaft. Obviously no chain guide on the case. Have to remove any material on the case to get that 15 tooth sprocket plus an o-ring chain to fit?

Can you run a 14t front and still kiit the case saver. Would 14/38 be about the same as 13/36 or could I even get away with 14/36 or is that too much for just a piped and jetted stock motor?

14/36 is to much to pull on basically a stock motor imo you will lose tons of torque and the quad will not feel nearly as quick. But yes i did always run a case saver with a 14 front i just grinded it down to make it fit, i would always recommend this instead of having the chain fly and having to buy a new case. I have also ran the 15 front i was afraid at first that it wouldnt fit but man you barely have any room at all to have that chain in there. I didnt mind it but i also had the motor to pull it.

Yea, I ran a 15/36 gearing on the last 300ex I had. When the chain slipped off those few times where it was so tight in there, it just jumbled up a bit didn't hurt it at all.
