yo guys, i have a 400ex right now but got word on an 86 250r for $500, they guy said he took the rear end off and it just has to be put back on, and he said something about a pin? should i buy it? or not buy it? i dont have any pictures. thanks for the help guys

Well, I'd say if you're actually looking to ride it, the worst that can happen is the frame to the seat and everything in between needs to be replaced and then you bought youself a bunch of ebay auctions.

At that price get all the guy's info on the bill of sale, just in case it he 'found' it somewhere? the sum of the parts is easily worth many times more than what your gonna pay!;)
