Planning on starting my 416 kit sometime after Christmas... and wondering where I can take it to get the studs installed and the cylinder bored out and possibly a 3 angle valve job. Would I just take it to any machine shop? I bike shop? Not sure where:ermm:

Just take it up to your local cycle / power sports shop. If they don't have the machining ability to bore your cylinder, they know a machine shop that can and the cycle shop will send it to them. They'll also install you studs if you want them to.

Give this guy a call AL @ Advanced Machining Services
phone # 570-339-5898 It is in PA. UPS is his best friend. He has done 100's of 400ex engines. Great guy he did my sons 440ex ran like a raped ape. He does nothing but High performance engine work, at a very good cost. Tell him Wade recommended you to him. He is redoing our yfz450 over the christmas vacation.

Do you have to send the whole engine? I'm horrible at this engine stuff. So I'm trying to learn also. Or would I just send the top end? I figured I'll have C&D do the boring and the valve job. But I'll have to ask them if they can do the studs as well. But honestly I don't even know where the studs go:o lol

Call him this is what he does for a living. He even answers my dumb questions. He will probably even quote you over the phone. Tell him Wade told you.
