FYI - this happened on YFZCentral.com

I agreed to a trade plus $300 to dc245. He had a set of Burgard +3 LT a-arms advertised to be in "good condition and that 1 a-arm may need a new ball joint". The powdercoat was described as having "some chips on the lowers". His Elka quad rate shocks were advertised as being in "great condition".

I traded my Herrmann +1 ST a-arms with 2 hours of ride time and a set of Elka triple rates along with $300 for his setup. This is what I opened up...

If you look, you will notice that the heim joints don't line up because the a-arm is bent. Also, yes those are the hacked up a-arm bolts froze into the heim joints and spacers. The powdercoat has more than just chips. After $120 for all new ball joints (anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" of up-and-down slop in each), 4 new heim joints ($92) and a couple new spacers ($24), I think it's safe to assume that the a-arms weren't in "good" condition. Also, I contacted the previous owner who had them up until 11/23/06 - he let dc245 know the upper right a-arm was bent, and they needed new balljoints and heim joints. He failed to tell me of these issues up front.

Just look at those Elka shocks - hardly what I would classify as "great" shape. Springs have the paint wore off, thread collars are froze to the shock bodies, crossovers are caked with mud and they clearly need service work. I can't image what the inside looks like.

Now before he jumps in and says my stuff wasn't as described - I furnish pictures. My a-arms were purchased on 9/11, but due to the new kid I racked up a whopping 2 hours worth of trail rides on them. I purchased the Elka new 2 years ago and had them serviced every winter.

My old setup 1 month prior to selling it - for future reference.

So be forewarded when dealing with dc245 - BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Well I'll add a couple other items to the mix.

1.) I talked to the guy who sold him the shocks and a-arms. He sold the a-arms for dirt cheap because he told dc245 the arm was bent and they needed new ball joints, heims, etc.

2.) I tried to take this to paypal and they denied me. His response to that was "have a good time trying to get the money since it will not work"

3.) His exact words to me were "a deal is a deal" and "your not getting a penny back"

Doesn't look like he's going to step up and be a man.

I read it like he was agreeing with everyone. Like:
