dirtbikes will perform good in the dunes from what ive seen, and jumping is the same as normal but a softer landing. i dont know why but when i go there i hardly see dirtbikes

i ride a dirt bike at the dunes all the time u have to be on the power all the time but u can sail jumps its a blast. the only thing that sucks is changing the rear to a paddle.

If your good on dirt you should do fine in the dunes.

If your not so experienced in the dirt, it will be hard in the dunes.

If your Joe motocross, you will be sailing.

I'm going to Glamis in January, but was told my 250F will be underpowered, and should look for a 450 or 250 two-stroke to bring out. How much truth is there in this? I'm told I won't like it at all on a little bike...

The sand robs ALOT of power. My son was happy on his rm100 in the dunes. But he wasn't very heavy. This guy is having fun on his 250.

Dirtbikes are fine in the dunes. you just have to stay on the throttle for most of the time and don't turn at slow speeds. there are some huge jumps for dirtbikes in the dunes though!

I ride a CR250R for duning. I like it better than a quad. Four wheels feels a little bit ho-hum after two wheeling. I always step off the two wheeler feeling tremendously satisfied in a way I rarely did with a quad.

As far as 250Fs, I've ridden a KTM 250SX-F for a few hours through the dunes and it had plenty of power. You can almost always use more power in the dunes, but that KTM was certainly adaquate. I wouldn't choose a 250f as a primary dune bike but I'd ride a 125 smoker if that's all I had.

A 250 4 stroke will go fine out in the dunes but wont pull big hills very fast. I ride a kx250 out at the dunes almost every other weekend and I love it you just have to get used to the turning alittle bit but its not as hard as people say. Youi will love having big open jumps everywhere on a bike because the top of the dune doesn't have to be level on both sides like a quad.

Here is a picture of me jumping about 130 feet and 20 feet up in the air.
