Right now it is looking good for me to race. My cases are together, just waiting on a piston and then replace the CB bearing and put the rest of the junk together.

I will be there to watch no matter what, but I should be racing in the 30+ class, if all continues to go well.

my best advice is to stay relaxed, focused, and be afraid. Don't be a hero, don't a wuss, and you should do fine. In novice class alot of poeple make alot of mistakes, so let screw up instead of making some wild pass.

ridred86 - When I first started racing 4 years ago, I was in the same boat. So I did the right thing, see below...

On the line, pick a spot on the outside of the first turn. This will allow you to avoid the mess on the inside of turn 1. The mess is usually worse in the novice classes. Watch the 30+ class line up. Rather than the gates filling up from the inside out, we pick the outside lines first. First 30+ race I was shocked at this fact.

Once the gate drops, wait a second before hitting the throttle. I am not talking about waiting there, but give the other "gun hoe" riders a chance to get out in front. That split second delay will allow you to pick a good line to the turn and avoid the mess in the turn as well. If there are no accidents, you will be in the back of the pack, but then you can get used to racing, and not worrying about some one coming up from behind. Plus it is a good confidence buidler as you get comfortable and start to pass people. After a few races you can give it your all off the start. Last year I ran the Open Expert class. Those guys were much faster than me. I could hold my own on the start, but they would come flying by me a couple turns later. So every race I would hestitate off the start and not have to worry about wrecking their "points" race and I was able to relax and have fun.

On the track all I can say is hold your line. Especially off jumps. Nothing worse than cutting across the track on a jump. Also, breathe and relax your arms. Let the quad move under you, rather than you move the quad. And do not race with your blinders on, always look around, especially behind you.

thanks lasher for the tips, so if your going how can i find you? maybe to just show me the starting gate and stuff.

Lasher

How to find me? Look for the guy winning the 30+ class and kissing the trophy girl. I will be the one stading near the winning wishing that was me!

I drive a black Chevy 2500 pickup with a red open trailer with a gate. My quad is a black plastic R with blue One Industries graphics kit. I am number 19. If my quad is not at the truck I am on the track or waiting at the gate.

The nice thing about the quad races, is that you can go anywhere on the track at anytime. So finding the starting gate is easy and no one will say anything to you nor do you need a special pass to get there.

The best place to watch a race is from the inside of the track. You go into the pits and cross over the bridge near the start finish line. From there you can stand right at turn one, and also see all of the jumps and most of the track.

99% (if not 100%) of the racers are really nice and you can talk to any of them. Some of my best friends I met on the track and each year I make more. So do not be scared to just talk to some one. Even some one like Mike Walsh will start up a conversation with you as you are standing around.

Hey i know a lot of you are camping but with the rain heading this way i decided to grab a hotel room about 5 miles from track "maybe be a little more going on what i was told from freind" Hampton Inn if you know anyone looking for a room tell them to book it online, becuase when you call them on the phone there telling everyone there booked, but online it shows the rooms. I called this place and asked the girl and she said nope all booked up so then i went online and made the res and then called her back to confirm and gusse what i had a room they are expecting 225,000 people in that area this weekend with the Big E fair and the basketball hall of fame reopening.

so I cant race but I'll be selling my 400ex there to, its got 2001 yellow race cut plastic and graphics and it'll be in the back or near a 2001 bluish/blackish/purplish supercrew

I really wanted to race to but oh well, 4 months til i can run again to

hey Sick0, make sure you put it in second when you start, and turn on the first corner and i think you'll be alright

I was wondering if I can bring our truck into the pits even though I wont be racing, will they let us?

redrizza
