View Full Version : how do I adjust 450r shocks

I just installed them and need to adjust the 450r shocks. I posted this in the 450r shock conversion sticky but nobody is lookin in that thread.
If someone has a copy of what the owners manual says, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Also, where can I find the spanner wrench to adjust them? does a regular auto parts store have them?

I have a shock wrench but it did not work very good so i used a plunt ended punch and an hammer!!!
compression
H makes it stiffer - slower
S makes it softer - faster
rebound
H makes it rebound slower
S makes it rebound faster
it also makes the changes the compression a little to.

So,
Preload would be using the spanner wrench to set the springs
Compression would be the top dial
and
Rebound would be the lower dial
is this correct?
yes you would be correct, and i think spanner wrenches are a waste just use a punch and hammer, much faster
