For $300 I got

2 Audioban 12" subs
1 1,000 Watt Crunch Amp
All the wiring
All the other little things you need.
2 snap together then screw boxes from wally world (hey it works until I get a box made)

It sounds awesome. I used the stock stereo. Chevy ussualy has good stereos but you could go to best buy and prally get a head unti for under $200 that is very nice

What are you looking for in sound? SQ or SPL? Both?

The L7 gets loud but isn't as crisp as other woofers...

I want to get this, and would also work well with whatever setup you want. IMO build your own box to whatever specs you want. The kicker box above is tuned a tad high (38hz). What do you listen to? You might want to upgrade the front speakers before even getting the sub/box/amp. Don't skip on deadening also ;)

i got a clarion usb headunit two memphis 12's clarion door speakers memphis wiring a 750 watt amp and all the wiring for 720 its a lil bit steeper but throw in some wally world components instead of some of the clarion and memphis you'll have something nice. r u lookin for beats or just a system period?

What kind of music do you mostly listen to? Base your box decision on that.

Box is ported I'm guessing.. My friend had two 10's and a 1000 watt amp owering them. My other friend at the time..had one 10 with a 1000 watt amp but the box was ported.

The friend with one 10 hit ALOT harder.

A ported box delivers more boom while a sealed box gives tight, controlled bass. Like I said...base your box decision on what type of music you listen to. If you're listening to a lot of rock you probably want a sealed box. If you're into Rap/Hip Hop/Country (if you like the bass in country) you want a ported box.

Not really. My dad is a "dealer" so we can get stuff pretty cheap and most of it is over a 500% markup from what we pay to what retail is.

Does anybody have anything to say about Power Acoustik? I can get their stuff for dirt cheap.

My dad isn't really a dealer but he uses his work name a his company name...............so I guess that does make him a dealer:p

Well, usually they are all going to be about the same price unless you're a dealer and you get it at wholesale. But not everybody can get those great prices. What I'm saying is that there are levels of quality that are reflected in the price. Same goes for most anything. So what I mean is if you buy a $69 dollar sub, its not going to sound like a $169 sub. Spend more money and get something that is going to sound good or great and last a while. Its worth it.

i listen to rap, country, and rock/metal.

so ill probably just get a sealed box.

another thing is, my truck is extended cab and i dont really want to get a truck box because i put tools and crap underneath the rear seat, so i need that space. i was just thinking about puttin a 12 in a box and settin it on the back seat, ive seen it done before. what do you guys think? any other ideas?

these are great with a decent amp like a punch 100 off of e-bay. really boosts the stock setup and gives a really nice thump.

dont do that that is the crappiest thing someone could do to a truck think about it you hit the brakes then your brand new subs gonna fall right off the seat and if you have tools down there you got a hole waitin to happen my advice get a toolbox in the back and get a truck box
