I know this is a HONDA page, butI own 2 hondas and will be getting a 250r soon after I can get this thin going. I have a suzuki 92 lt250r and I just put a new engine in it and had it runnimg for about 3 minutes when it cut out on me and now I cant get it started. I have spark, compression, and I shot some staring fluid in the carb to make sure it wasnt the fuel and still nothing. Im baffled. Any info would GREATLY be appreciated. Send info to panteramatt78@hotmail.com. THANX

hes trying to say that if you went out and went wide open after just 3 minutes of warming it up u probably seized your engine up and screwed it up. ya gotta let them 2 strokes warm up.

u could try putting gas in the spark plug hole(i think it would work), clean your carb maybe, i think its the fuel, if u put it in the carb, how do u know its going to the spark plug?

those were all great ideas, I put gas in the hole and still nothing. What compression should I have? It has to be the top end even though it feels like I have enough compression.

Compression should be checked at WOT and after several kicks. I would probably expect to see nothing less than 90 psi, but more towards 125 psi. It may have spark, but maybe not enough to ignite the fuel under the compression. You may need to start throwing some parts at it and money to find out what's wrong. There is a GREAT 2-stroke site that has some pretty technical guys in the forum. www.macdizzy.com Rick did my porting on my LT80 and is a two stroke guru. He owns the site. Good Luck.

If your keyway on your crank that hold the flywheel on broke, it would give you spark but not at correct timing. Check that first to see if your getting spark at correct timing.:D

My friend has an LT, and he thinks it is either the stator (very likely) or the keyway on the flywheel. It is common for the stators to go bad on these motors.

I figured it out!!! It was the flywheel. The key dropped out cause I put a smaller one in it. It still has some play in the slot butI tightened the nut with a air ratchet. Thanx for all the help, especially you methyman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
