I have a computer that was made in 1999 and I am running windows ME (Milleneium edition). Can I install windows xp on it? I ask becuase I have lost some of the software for ME.

i dont see why not. unless there is somekind of OS lock with ME that i don't know about :confused:
with XP you're going to want RAM, and lots of it!
may i recommend a mac? LOL
Vista from Microsoft is coming out soon and is supposed to be the bees-knees. might want to wait for that.
what kind of software did you lose?

Just the cd burning software plus I just like the way xp operates. I have xp on my other computer but it isn't hooked up to the dsl and is too far away from the wireless router or phone jacks. I downloaded some free cd burnning software but it is so so so SLOW!

Yeah you can run XP. I've put it on computers designed for windows 95 before.

Thats prob the speed of your burner not the program

No I used to burn cd on here with adaptec easy cd creator and it was fast enough for me but these FREE ones suck
