Can you use a stock CR500 shock on the CR500 linkage set up on a 250R? I would imagine it would work. But I was wondering if anyone knew for sure.

I built a Leager framed quad in the mid 90's with a CR500 rear shock. The shock and linkage had to come from a 91 CR only because the other years were different. The reason for this was that Learger had a CR500 in his garage and it just happened to be a 91 model. I don't think that you can put the set-up on any quad it has to be built for the CR500 setup because of the mounting points and it takes the special swingarm that is made for this set-up. I could be wrong but you have to buy the frame, swingarm, shock, linkage, and airbox also. And there might be some more extra parts also.

Did you use an actual stock CR500 shock? Not a PEP or somethin right?

White Power built a shock for us. I guess that you could use a CR500 shock, but I would have it revalved. I wpould think that a bike valving and the quad valving are different.

Yeah the valving would def. be different, but I'm just checking to see if the shock off the dirt bike will work. I want to get a Laeger w/ a CR500 set up, sometime next season, and I would not be able to afford to get a brand new PEP, Axis, or Elka shock right away.
