In an earlier post I have a 2000 rancher 2wd manual (foot) shift that will no longer move, forward or reverse. I can push it no problem, so brakes are not locked up

I jacked up the back end put it in gear and the tires would move very slowly forward and reverse. adjusted the clutch and now the tires will move a lot faster with it jacked up, but if I put it back on the ground it will no longer move. I suppose this means the clutch is burnt up?

How hard is it to replace the clutch in a rancher? Dont have a service manual, thought about ordering one and doing it myself. any special tools required? Do you have to pull the motor to do it? This has the motor mounted sideways and the clutch is in front.

1st off what do you do with 3 sport quads?? :D Second if you do it yourself the manual is a must. I personally can't help much, sense I have never done any work on a Rancher. Good luck!

the 02 400ex is mine, the 300ex is my youngest sons, the 426 is my oldest sons. the rancher we use on our farm, and the wife rides it when we all ride together. A few years ago we thought we could either buy a boat, which we might use 3 times a year, or for the same money buy quads which we can use all year round. Easy decission

That is a thing of beauty right there. I had a feeling it might be something of that sort. :macho
