I want to do a 416 build but will the stock cam chain be good enough ofr should I replace that too?

I'm pretty sure the stock chain should be fine.

not sure if it was just bad luck or not but my 416 broke mine, well almost had to rebuild because of a blown head gasket and found the chain had 2 of the 3 broken links going across the top broken. For the extra $30 a crf cam chain costs its good insurance to buy it I know. If I was to be building another 416 I would be installing hd studs and a crf cam chainn. Better to spend the extra 100 now than to have to tear down again later because something broke.

Blown head gasket on a bored 400EX? No way...:huh Ha ha my 440 ate head gaskets faster than a fat kid can eat ice cream.

Anyway, I had a CRF chain on mine. Easy to do and cheap insurance. Don't cut that corner. Good luck!!

ya, even if you you dont break the stock one, stretching can be just as bad, as well as a power eater, anyways, i'm running a 440 on stock studs with no dowels, with a crf cam chain, and its going good so far, maybe 20 hours on it

It's like $27 from Service Honda.....it's a no brainer. I run one in mine and it's cheap insurance against expensive repairs if you ask me ;) Might as well replace it while everything is apart.

Spend the $30 or so and replace it. For the money, you can't afford not to replace it.
