No you shouldn't need a longer cable, atleast I didn't, but it was a pain to get my carb back on
eh, i dont want to take it off again getting it on was a pain, but im planning on pulling the whole motor and doing a complete rebuild is it hard to re-install my engine?

lol, i had a ton of trouble getting my 30mm carb on the airbox it took me about an hour.... i had to heat it up with a hair dryer then try to streach it around. what i did was take the rear plastics off, put the carb on then put the plastics back on and hook up the carb ao the intake its pretty easy.
