I've never been in a race yet but i am very soon after i watched one here at the Southern Super Cross arean in Cleveland Alabama. It is awesome (all the hot chicks around is a plus too). CAn i be competitve on my 02' 416EX?

My mods are listed below, what else would yall sugest so i could keep up w/ these newer quads. Any pointers? The next race is Jan. 5 & 6 in Cullman... i can't wait!!!

You don't want to be geared too high, because you never really get out of first gear. Other than that, maybe MX tires. I will be at both Cullman races and the Longhorn races. Longhorn is alot more fun, because it's a bigger arena. I guess I will see you there;)

For starters you should throw your wheel spacers away and put your rims on the way they are supposed to be then you might stand a chance.

gear low. 13/38. 400ex stands a better chance in arena cross than mx.

I would go with out spacers so its easier to pass cause its really crouded in arena cross

The spacers are leavin, i have +4 lonestar axle on the way. I like the way it handles w/ the flipped front tires.

put sum mx tires on and find some used suspension on here...suspension and widening your quad is really important and especially in an arena, i would get a-arms and used shocks if you had the money, buy used stuff if you have to

If you want to widen it up a bit grab some front yfz shocks and lower it to about 3/4ths or a little less than stock height and that will give you a good inch. From what i can tell you are trying to go cheap. Same here :D, and your gearing needs to go down they are geared pretty low to begin with but it still needs to come down. 13/38 sounds good.

Cheapest set up is what i run.

ASR prostar +3 A-arms. New $400

Yfz stock front shocks which can lower your front all the way down to 3.5 inches off the ground by just adjusting the pre loar preload. $150 used

Tcs rebuilt rear shock $450

Lonestar axle $410. {Could run a Gforce for $200}

Kenda tires are pritty cheap or turf tammers.

The corners.....AND the whoops.

You can lose the race in the corners but you can win it in the whoops.

look on ebay for a-arms, get mx tires, 450r or yfz shocks, and turn ur front rims around.....and get comfortable handle bars and set them up so when ur hands are on the grips there shoulder width apart...o and practice as much as you can on the track...they wear you out alot faster than outdoor tracks... i use my stock gearing with 18's
