are the air sccops for the 400ex worth the money do they actually cool down the motor enough to be worth it?

I put the UM air scoops on my 416, It doesn't make alot of a difference unless you're on the gas alot such as on the dunes or hot on the trails but they make a nice place to put stickers and they look good.

I love the way the 400ex looks with race cut fenders and the scoops , i have yet to see a 450 with them im curious how it would look . might help considering its water cooled.

I think it really depends on your riding style. I ride on large tracks with plently of air flow through the scoops. I also have a XR's ONLY oil temperature dip stick. I saw a 20 to 30 degree drop in oil temperature after I installed them. I also like the added piece of mind knowing I'm trying to keep the engine as cool as possible. The TRX400EX is air cooled and any extra air flow can only help. Here's a couple pictures of the $45.00 scoops I have installed. I purchased them from: http://www.metalmasterfabrication.com/400_ex.htm

Here's a front view. They were easy to install and NO modifications to the frame or plastics were required.

Them air scoops look good , atleast i could see what they would kind of look like on a 450. Just dont know if they would fit around the rad. Would be nice if they did for a 450.

A long time ago some one tested the temps of b4 and after and the ex ran 5 degrees cooler with scoops.

I like omf scoops.
