I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I am looking into getting some shocks for my 400ex.

What kind of shocks should I get if I do a lot of trail riding, a lot of jumping and maybe a little racing???

Elka?

Works?

PEP?

TCS?

Axis?

?????

If you're going to be doing mainly trailriding, with some jumping/racing on the side, go with works. If you'll be riding more of MX style stuff, get a better quality shock.

why dont people get what they like instead of what people tell them to get? Just do research and buy what will fit you better. Plus, theres is like 5 threads each day about what shocks to buy.

True...you should get what you like, but I am very new to this and don't know ANYTHING about aftermarket shocks. Where is the best place to read about them? I have started going to each company's website, but they are all going to tell you they are the best...

im sorry, i didnt see that you were a new member. Well it depends on what kind of riding you do and plan on doing in the future, an it dpends on how much you want t spend. Works an elkas are good shocks for your riding and they are low budget. If you plan on racing then get Axis, Pep, TCS, or elka. They are all great shocks but its up to you to decide whichone cuz every body on this board will tell you something different. I would call The Quad shop ( the sit sponsor, in te upper right corner of the window ) Marcums, or somebdy that deals with shocks and talk to them about what you need. They will both give you a discount since you are an EXriders member.
