Need to know if anyone makes a lift kit for a 1996 gmc sierra 1500 2 wheel drive , 6.5 turbo diesel...
Don't want to hear any crap about lifting 2 wheel drives either .. I just want this for looks ..

Body or suspension? If it just for looks then a body is a cheap way to go. Performance Accessories is the one to get in a body. Under $300 will get you a body. Suspension lifts are higher. Figure on spending 1200-1700 and 600 for installing it if you hire it done. Fabtech are good lifts along with Rancho and many others. I've been hearing alot good about Pro Comp lately. We are getting ready to have a 6" Pro Comp installed on my girlfriend's 06 Chevy 4x4.

I would suggest 6-7" total lift if just for looks. 3" body and 3 or 4" suspension via spindels and blocks or a shackle flip. Fabtech and CST make some nice lift spindels for the newer Chevy's and GMC's but I'm not sure about the older models.

I got my 2500 on 2inch blocks. It sits nice and has a nice stance to it.

the fabtech 2wd is a pretty good kit - the best thing about a 2wd is how cheap it is ... http://www.truckperformance.com/product.page/Suspension+%26+Chassis/Spindles/0/0/0/FABFTS1588-7%2C+FABFTSBK3%2C+FABFTS1500UBK-3/CHEVROLET/1996/C%7EK+1500+Pickup/Standard+Cab/2WD

or get the spindles up front and leafs in the back ... http://www.truckperformance.com/product.page/Suspension+%26+Chassis/Springs+-+Leaf/0/0/0/SPL01-364/CHEVROLET/1996/C%7EK+1500+Pickup/Lifting+Springs/2WD

If your planning on only lifting it for looks and you don't want any added performance get coil spacers and Lift spindles for the front. Then just throw some blocks in the back and if its still not to your liking get a 2" body lift.

If I was in your shoes though I would get some deavers and bilstiens in the rear with some king coilovers up front. Then buy some glass for the front and throw some 35 on there your truck.
