400ex vs YZ250F?

Which would win in a race a stock 2003 YZ250F or and 05' 400ex with a hotcams stage 1 with HMF slip-on and twin air airfilter from 1st to 5th?

i raced his old cr125 last weekend and he sold it like idk sometime last week and i won over and over and right now its stock and his has a pro circut pipe and an airfilter..

and he's a good rider too.

ive ridden my modded 02 400ex and ive riddend a stock 01 yz250f and a moded 2005 yz250f. i think it would be even with the 01 and the 05 would beat it but i dont think ud get raped, maybe on a race track but in a drag u shouldnt be too far behind

Traction makes a big difference too. In a high traction environment, the low weight and equal or greater HP of the YZ will overshadow the EX's ability to put power to the ground. In a very low traction environment, the advantage might start to shift towards the quad.

you never beat my 125! I all ways beat you.. i clocked that bike a 72mph... and it had more then a pipe and air filter... and BTW my yz250f is a 2004 and it has different gearing so it has more acceleration stock gearing is 13-48 and mine has 13-51...

with that gearing u will have him off the line, but u r loosing alot on top. i think that if u raced down the road till u both topped out he would be u, but only with ur lower gearing. otherwise, with stock gearing, the yz-f will win wiout question

I raced my friends yz250f on my dads 400 in a cornfield. I got a perfect start, but he stalled and had to kick it again, i kept going. Even after he stalled he passed me like I wasn't even moving when i was in 3rd - 4th gear. We both had new tires.

my cousin has the same bike and he handed me my (_Y_). The first 3 gears I would get him, but after that he passes me like i was standing still, he has about 60-70 lbs on me he weighs about 240lbs both stock , pavement or dirt, but since you have an 05 tell him you want to bet him $500 bucks on a race when he agrees tell him in reverse LOL

:eek2: Afterwords he said it only took 1 kick to get it going again. He also has a full fmf pipe on his and the 400 is stock.

i rode a 250f and my 400 same day at little sahara. the 250 was definatly faster!!!!!

well the HMF pipe won't make all that much of a difference cuz those bikes r in such a high state of tune stock...maybe 2 horses
