View Full Version : how do you get to the fuel screw

i need 2 turn my fuel screw out and i was lookin and i dont know how 2 get to it...i had a 400ex before this and i thought the carberatours where similar but they arnt...thanks

loosen the screws up on the air intake book and the boot that goes to the motor and turn the carb sideways you can get to the screw like this without having to take it off

yes, turn the carb sideways- it will be the small "D" shaped brass plug beside the bowl.
my advice; remove this one and replace it with an aftermarket, I replaced mine with a Pro-Circuit and it makes life a little easier.
if you can't get it to turn, drill a small hole into it, then thread a screw in the hole, use the screw to back it out.

Is it possible to just cut a groove in it? So a flat head screwdriver could fit it?

Cant put one on the 04/05s cause they dont have the FCR carb like the 06/07's

I cut a slot in the d shape and just use a screwdriver to turn!

does any1 have like the layout of the carb from like tha manual cuz theres 2 screws and idk which one to turn...

i know its not d-shapped on the 04's it just takes a regular flat head screw driver
