Today Chad (DRG), Alex (czrider263), and his dad came down to dyno test his new Web 943 cam. He had the Web 208. We also threw in a Rossier vs. DASA pipe test. This is Rossier's New Redesigned 06' pipe. This is the First test posted of the Revised 06' Rossier. Here are the mods on this 06':

Stock Bore
Stock Stroke
DRG Porting
43mmFCR
Web 943
Oversized Buckets
14:1 Baldwin
Stock Valves
stock box no lid drg filter

Temps for todays testing were 50* & 31% Humidity. Kind of Chilly.

We started with the Rossier and we ended out jetting with a K195 main. Then the DASA was installed and we dialed it with a K185 main.

The crew hard a work...
:huh

Very sweet.

Looks like Joe has his stuff together on the 2006 RE Pipe!

Both of those jets are HUGE for an 06'. The highest I had seen before this was a 175 main.

I just wish I had an 06' :(.

Good looking tests Matt.

Thanks Ghott:) Yea, Joe is making great power at a great cost. It will only get better:D

What does he sell the 06' pipes for?

And I've heard he will be coming out with a revised 05' pipe...

Any word on when?

Mobile Dyno

I believe the they are around $450 for a Full system, but call Joe to make sure.

He is coming out with a revised 05' and we will be testing that soon. No word on when.

Another question for you...

Did he mention a reason as to why he went from the 208 to the 943/921?

I'd imagine the 943 is a little easier on the valve train, but it looks like he lost about 1.5-2 horses?

NO I made the same peak hp with another 2 all around. but looking at the graphs you will see that is will drop off after 9,500 or so so its a great cam to that i think the loss up top is fine for what you get down low.

Also thanks matt for a fun day of testing.

Looks good Alex.....:) Take it to the track and give us a ride report.

Matt,
Do you have any runs with the 208 installed ? Then we could see where the difference is between these 2 cams on his build.

Chad is going to post that graph in a few min. Alex made a great choice on a cam.

the 208 over-camed this build for sure.....

I call the 943 'the 208 mini-me'.

the 943 is almost the same cam with normal base circle and smaller valve lift on the intake.

0.356 intake lift on 943
0.408 intake valve lift on 208

same lobe phasing

same duration

same overlap

same exhaust dur/lift.

essentially, the 943 is a less agressive 208 that is considered 'drop-in' cause the 943 will not wear springs out on 0.356" lift...

Try not to get confused though about a smaller cam, it is possible to make more power on a smaller came if your port is tuned to flow more at 0.356" than 0.408". In other words, sometimes a cam can be too big and will cause power loss when the valve is full out the velocity falls significantly and the intake charge falls out ouf suspension....

Matt,

Do you have graphs of all the dyno runs done with each pipe to try and get an "average" between the two?

Chad,
Good info on the 943. I'm really starting to like the way that cam is looking. Maybe it'll replace my HCS2 sometime down the line :).

the cam was suppose to be purchased for czrider263 05 450R build, but after looking at czrider263 ol' 06 54hp 208 dyno run using the FCI, it was discussed that the 208 was being a bit lazy so i suggested czrider263 to install it and see if the power was better.

It was..

very impressive, but still this is basically a 208 with the same timing just a little less intake valve lift to help with intake velocity...

I am glad told Alex about that cam when I say them at Rausch Creek.

More useable HP and TQ and perfect for the track.
Good comparrison between the 2.

we were going to install this in the new 05 build, but i suggested that he compare it to it's big brother on the 06 after Dee and I had great discussions about intake velocities...

The over-rev beyond peak falls off hard though with the 943...

dont even try taking this cam to 11k..

Nice results guys.

I also run the 943 and have a 208 in my cam arsenal but I will say on my build that the seat of the pants and drag racing results are just the oposite of whats shown here.

Proving that one cam can react totaly different in two differnet motors and everything needs to be built as a package to perform correctly and it seems this motor like the 943 much more than it does the 208.

Now what about a Dasa systems thats made for this setup? You guys used the shelf system I take it, which would only be fair Shelf vs Shelf but I know Dasa will make a pipe for anyone for their specific build for the same price all you have to do is ask.

Again nice results guys and thanks for sharing with everyone.

Oh sure corey,.. cam shaft selection is not going to be the same on all builds.. there is a big difference between the 06 TRX head (like this one) and the 05 TRX head... the 06 head is all about velocity and the 943 complements that perfectly... still not bad,... it'll get better for sure..

hey corey, the Rossier was not custom just revised
Enjoy Alex.

hey corey,.. i just edited one of my previous post to clarify...

the Rossier is not a custom exhaust... this 06 Rossier is just revised from before.... in other words, this wasn't a custom exhaust as you suggest that DASA could offer just what is offered to public.

I knew what you were saying Dawg, I know Joe Joe revised it and is revising the 04-05 too :) was just saying you CAN gte a Dasa tailored to your needs is all.

Just want to let you all know that the 06 TRX pipe has never been changed at all since I released it almost a year ago. To bad it could have been dynoed with 14 discs on the back with a closed end cap ( worth .2-.4 tenths of a HP over totally open end cap on my own personal quad)

Remember, this is on a 2006, not a 2004/2005.

Joe isn't coming out with his 04/05' revised pipe until sometime in January.

Sounds like the 943 did it for ya :).

Looks like it fairs well in both the 04/05 machines, and the 06/07 machines. I'm really starting to like how this cam looks :).

Chino installed 14 discs and the closed endcap last night! Chino did not start it cause Chino is missing A-arms and front shocks! :macho

Chino also noticed that the new TC Racing exhaust uses the same endcap that Chino has as a spare in a box, Chino will check it out! ;)

Chino needs to find a dyno soon and close by!

Chino likes typing in 3rd person! :blah:
