Sending out my frame paps!

Do you ever have a problem with gloss black getting dull? I did on my gloss black spindles, that's why I'm a bit scared of gloss black (over stealth)

all gloss colors will eventually haze. from washings and such, just like your car finish. you can also use plain old car wax to bring back the shine etc.


i have pretty much stopped pc'n spindles simply because people were beating them to death when they had to change arms etc. PC is stronger then paint, but it cant withstand a highly pissed off 16 year old with daddys claw hammer...lol

Is there some type of paint/powder code or brand for your stealth black Paps? Or will all stealth black be so close you wont be able to tell? I'm letting the guy who is stripping off my chrome coat those parts (a-arms and swingarm).

I dropped my a-arms and swingarm off to the local guy, and he doesn't have a clue what stealth black is.
Ya got any kind of part number and manufacturer?

I'd love to, but they are chromed already. And he said he could get the chrome off.

I didn't see the back of the shop, he said he had some type of liquid etc. But I doubt it is the right way. He was weary off taking the chrome off, but then I told him I just wanted to PC them after and he said he could do it...Kinda sketchy
It is a crappy chrome job on the arms and swinger (no copper), and it's peeling, so it seems like it could be blasted to me...

if im doing silvervien and gloss black, why in the owrld would you want a different color black for those parts? if i remember its because the gloss colors show haze, which i can understand etc. if that is the case, tell him to use a wrinkle black. i can match the subframe to that and we would be good to go? or better yet do the frame and sub both in silvervien so there is no issue of matching each others pc

Frame - Silvervein w/ clear
Subframe - Silvervein w/ clear
Flip top mount - Stealth black

I labeled the flip top mount gloss black when I shipped it, on accident. That's why I posted on here and asked you to do it (flip top mount) in stealth.

Don't worry about the swingarm and a-arms, I'm going to pick them up and bring them to a real chrome shop to be stripped and then sent to you for stealth. Thanx Paps

Any updates Paps? I know it needed some welding, so I figured turn around time would be a bit slower tha usual.
Also, did you get the letter/note with my frame? It had all the info you welding etc.

I turned on to the hybrids i have here tonight. It took about 30 minutes to get that one seized heim out of the sub frame/flip top. everything is loaded in the truck to head to the burn off oven tomorrow. I did look over the frame and other then the broken mount it doesnt look to bad. I have Shanes Walsh hybrid here and its about in the same shape, except it took over an hour to get his broken, siexed and stripped bolts out:p
