Smoking on de-acelleration.

Today I noticed my quad was smoking, it's the first time in about a week or so it's been ran. The valve seals need to be replaced because of smoking on startup. I let my friend ride my quad, I told him to blow past me, as fast as possbile. When he slowed down i noticed it was smoking. I doubt it's piston rings because I just rebuild my quad last month. Any ideas?

Yup, just like you said it is your valve seals. When letting the engine slow you down it will suck oil thru them and burn it off. Cheap fix atleast:)

If it's smokin a lot on decel it's probably a good idea to have the valve guides checked for wear also.
