Hi, im working on a buddies lt80 that dont run. I have figured out what it is i think. There is a black spacer in between the reed cage and the carb. Well the reed cage has a groove around it for a o-ring(witch is missing) and then the black spacer has a groove for a o-ring then the carb bolts go thru it and bolts the carb to the cage, with the spacer in between the two. Well it would not run but i did get it started and i think it was not making a good seal do to not having the o-rings in place. So my question is there suposed to be 2 o-rings?

Next is i have seen this thing run in the past and noticed a loud grinding type noise comming from around the rear gear box area. Has anyone ever heard of this before? It only does it when the ride it. Once it get it running ill be able to locate the noise better.

The reed cage o-ring is made right in it. I've never seen one out of it.
Yes the black piece needs a o-ring too.

Noise~~ maybe in the clutchs. The gears would be broke and not turning well. Just have to inspect it when you service the clutchs.

The black spacer has a groove for the o-ring inbetween the carb and the spacer..now is there a o-ring that goes in between the spacer and the reed cage? I know the o-ring thats made into it your talking about. Im talking where the black spacer meets the reed cage.

Yes. You need a carb o-ring.
"Yes the black piece needs a o-ring too."
If your local zuki dealer don't have one, I could stick one in an envelope.
I have a "expieremented with" reed cage. I'm thinking I could send you the o-ring out of that. I'm not sure if you can get that one. Like I said, I've never seen one w/o it.

Just looked. No o-ring offered for the reed cage. Just the carb.

So what keeps it from leaking between the spacer and where it bolt to the reed cage? Cause there is a o-ring in between the spacer and the carb.

So you guys are saying...I just need a o-ring in between the carb and spacer and nothing between spacer and the reed cage?

Well there is a groove that looks like it something at one time...or is it suposed to have a rubber gasket made into it?

"So you guys are saying...I just need a o-ring in between the carb and spacer and nothing between spacer and the reed cage?"

NO.
You do need a O-ring in the reed cage. That O-ring is not offered in the parts fiche.
"The reed cage o-ring is made right in it. I've never seen one out of it."

Get a o-ring, buy a new reed cage, or silicone it.

It looks like it has been removed at one time. I bought some o-rings and gonna try it.

Are there another restrictions to the quad other then the exhaust?
