air box lid?

if i cut out a square hole about 4 inches by 4 inches well i have to re-jet my carb?

There's not much point in venting the airbox unless you also rejet.

Just take the lid off--then you can put it back on if you want. A main jet change takes about 2 minutes (with practice). Adjusting the fuel screw is a little tougher but not too bad. It's likely you won't have to mess with the needle.
