alright, i havnet torn it down yet to see what else is done, but i know for sure i blew 2nd gear. i plan on replacing all the gears, new shift fork, etc...

my question is are yukon gears the way to go?
where is the best place to purchase them, and for how much?

home come the yukon set is 2nd-6th, and doesnt include 1st?

ya im not sure why they dont sell 1st gear? anyway I recently had yukons installed in the tranny.... so far its good lol. if you buy them pm airdogms on here.... trust me hell save you some money. i bought two sets of gears from him for 310 each... not bad considering duncan wants 600 a piece

1st gear is the main shaft, you'll need to talk to honda for that one.

Cryoing your transmission is another option as well.

i had the same thing happen to me. Since i didn't want it to happen again i went with the yukon gears, and after i got them and the new oem gears, i sent them out along with everything in the lower end to get cryoed. I wouldn't say bullet proof, but it cost too much to buy cases and gears again. do it and never look back!

i also considered cryoing my cs gears.... i read a forum on here about somebody debating whether to cryo or get yukons..... Personally i opted for new gears, I would say if your gears are in good condition throw a new oem second gear in there and cryo the btm end.

The Yukons are only for the counter shaft gears, the main shaft gears have to be OEM Honda.

So who does the cryo?

when you have the gears in your hand you can see easily why 2nd breaks , its got so many open spaces on it and its big . it was me debating cryo or cryo and gears , ended up being too costly fro the cryo in the UK else i'd of had EVERYTHING done in the bottom end .
as is i'm well pleased with the YUKONS and if the rest of your gears don't look too worn then i'd just drop those in if on a budget , a new OEM 2 nd is all well and good but its not as strong as the billet ones so at some time it could well go again if your running a hot motor ..
