Is there any way to identify a 250r motor other than the serial number? Same goes for the frame! Both are missing on the one I just bought.

Look through the threads on here and eBay for pictures. They are kinda hard to mistake if you know what one looks like. There are all kinds of places that you can look at pictures of a 250r frame. Just do a little research.

the frame iin the front on an 86 has a gap at the bottom front bar,,,
88/89 has different swing arm mnts
the motor on the lower end on the trannt cases has a different gap 85/86 the 87-89 has a larger gap
