Thanks bro..It's a Front Line. There not real big..The guy use to race a Leager but it kept cracking so he started making his own...It's one of the best frames that I have seen.

Need opinions...White OEM plastic or Red OEM? The R that I use to race in the 90's was white. So I'm thinking red this time around.

Man you are going to have a lot of money into this thing. Frontline used to have a website, but I don't know what happened to it. They used to list 250R frames with 400ex plastic mounts. I'd be so much cheaper for plastic.

Anyway it'll look awesome when it's done. I'd go with the red plastic. Or All black would look good too.

I've talked to Frontline a few times in the past few weeks...He said that there site is still up but I haven't checked yet.

Yeah it's gonna cost a good amount but this one I will NEVER sell. I wish I had never sold my old R...I had about $20,000 in it, but things happened and family needed money. So I told myself that I would get another one...So I seen this one Ebay and thought it was time for another.:D

Hell I'm even selling parts of my track R1 to finish this build....:eek2:

I won't go with anyother plastic...It has to be OEM.

When you got those new cases, did you have to get them machined to fit together? My local builder told me since they don't come matched anymore that they have to be machined to match.

If you are sending your cylinder off to be ported, I would talk to Neil( C-Leigh Racing) He knows the most about these motors than anyone i have talked to. His porting is top notch from what i have seen and herd. I wouldn't want any of the big companies porting a cylinder now, since they all went to 4 pokes. Though duncan is probably the best out of them( ie- CT, ESR ,LRD)Neil is always willing to talk with anyone. So I would talk to him before you send out the cylinder.

I have a hard time finding those on ebay. I've found one on rockymountainatv.com and it was about $175. Did you get a cover too? The one on RockyMtATV you can buy a cover (for extra $$), like an pre-filter cover over K&N's.

Turning out real nice, I hope to do a complete R rebuild next winter. I'm saving up for it!

It'll still look good, but I hate seeing people buy brand new OEM plastic and cut it. It seems like such a waste especially since race cut doesn't make that much difference with fitment. There will be a day SOON - like no more than 1-2 years when OEM plastic will no longer be available and it'll be hard to find UNCUT plastic anywhere with no breaks or spiderwebbing.

IF you end up with 8 grand into it, that's not too bad for an complete aftermarket (like new) 250R, you could pay that for a used one.

Oh my man! Your build is insane. Which engine does it have? is it like 1980th engine totally rebuild. I was thinking about which engine to use cause I really feel like building a 2 stroke but do not feel like using an old engine!!!

The engine is based off of an 89...has pretty much new everything...Cases, bearing, gears, crank and cylinder. The cylinder is at Duncan getting ported, I talked to Loren Duncan on thursday and he said it should be finished up in another week or so.

The power plant is a Paul Turner National midrange, Paul Turner race pipe, fat boy 2 silencer, pyramid reed cage and Keihin carb.

I know for a fact it will be fast as hell...It's the same engine build as what I use to race with.:D

You can't buy a new engine, but you can build one...I would say it would cost anywhere from $2,000-8,000 depending on what you wanted.

Thanks bro! Yeah I don't really care for the graphic's they have today...plus that is pretty much what my last R looked like 12 years ago..so I wanted this to look pretty much just like.

Hand's down my fav 250r, old school style with the top of technogly.. Plus who can't love a nice mx 250r! How hard was it to find all the parts? My boss has a 86 roller I could buy and I am wondering if it would be a good thing to pick up as something to build in a couple years. :macho

I am curious to ask what was the cost of the build?? after everything was said and done?? Very nice R BTW

With buying it and then building it the way I wanted it I have about $12,000 in it. I could have done it cheaper but I didn't cut any corners..:D
