Notice how much the MX tracks have changed over the years. There were hardly any jumps on that whole track.

Good ol day when Donnie Banks, Gary Denton, Rodeny Gentry, Don Turk, Jimmy White, Marty Hart, Steve Mendenhall, had factory rides.
Suzuki had 4 paid riders, a paid mec for each, & each rider had a LT250R & LT500R to race along with a box van full of parts.
Honda had Marty Hart & Kawasaki, team green, had Steve Mendenhall on the 3 wheelers.
Boy those were the days.
Harold Goodman & Angela Moore were just kids along that time racing the 80 mod class.

Thats awsome seeing racing from that long ago. I still wanna build up a 250r as an old school MX'er. With only parts that were made back in the 80's, and early 90's.

wow, amazing video. that brought a smile to my face. I wonder how those legends would do against todays racers? I remmeber an article I read with an interview with gary denton not too long ago, and he said his old 250R on the right track with good traction would smoke these new quads!

That's just a function of that particular track. Back in those days, they weren't quite as concerned about making sure they have each and every aspect included in every track, whoops, step ups, step downs, tables, timing jumps, blah blah blah. Back then, many outdoor tracks were just cut from the natural terrain and raced, with maybe only a few man-made aspects.

But they definitely had tracks with jumps, too. I remember watching races in the mid 80s on an indoor track, racing 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers. Being and indoor track, it was ALL man-made terrain, jumps and whoops, doubles and triples, and looked just like any indoor motocross track you'd see today.
