Is anyone else anxiously waiting for Honda to inject the 450R?
I'm debating on building my 400ex from stock now or get a 06 450er. I hit the dunes as well as trail\mountains, and I like the low speed \lowend grunt of my 400ex, so I'm not sure if the 450r will be right for me. But I know I want a lot more power in the sand.
Is the 450r any more sensitive to altitude changes than the 400ex?
thinking I might build the 400 now and hope Honda goes to fuel injection in a couple years. And maybe they'll have a bullet proof E starter by then as well as other issues worked out.
Hmmm... decisions, decisions...

Have you ever ridden a LTR450, the Fuel injection is horrible on the Suzuki, BIG hesitation down low

Horrible? Yeah right!!! The EFI on them is great. I couldn't be happier.

The one I rode was bone stock, it had no low end, and the transition from off idle to 1/2 throttle was not good. Maybe with some mods they improve?

The Fuel Injection gives quads better response on the throttle. But i don't want it. I can barely work on my quad now let alone with FI

I rode a stock '04 450r at the dunes for just a few minutes. Killed it like 8 times from lugging it too low. Too used to my 400ex.

I heard that the Suzukis had to be re piped to make them run well. (heard from Dealer)

I just really think FI would be nice--not to have to rejet when changing filters, pipes, summer\winter and especially altitude changes. Seems like it would save a lot of quess work and headache always trying to get the A\F mix right on.
I can see that, the people who like to tinker with thier quads, may not like it, but look what it's done to the vehicles we drive.

The FI on the Rincons is awesome.

Do you guys have any response to rest of my first post? I've gotta make decision quick whether or not to sell my stock 400ex for an 450er or build my 400 and wait a little longer for the 450
