there's quite a bit of work invilved to do it right. Ken Cornwell of Rocky Ridge Racing did mine a long time ago and no problems to this day. The frame has to be changed - the atc motor has to sit lower in the chassis in order to get the sprockets lined up and at the right angle. Old mounts have to be removed, new mounts welded in, gussets, .........

a 350x in a trx250r was the old school solution to 4 stroke racer. Now there are much better choice and frames available to hold those motors keeping the same geometery. Thats if you haven't bought a trx/yfz/ltr/kfx 450 already. A common one is lsr frame w/ crf450r or yz450f/yz426f motor. There are ktm 520 frames out there, but only walsh racecraft makes them now. I does look like a nice conversion. Leager used to made a frame that held a 350x motor, they stopped it right around when the 400ex came out. Get this.....Honda actually bought one of these frame to design the 400ex around. I wonder....why couldn't they design the 400ex to handle more race like and sit lower??????

I can't imagine why that conversion is a good idea much less worth the trouble. Someone must really love the 4stroke feel. yikes.

Here's one for sale in OH, it has a 350x motor stroked and bored to 500cc's at 13.8:1 compression-for 2500 it doesn't seem like that bad of a deal.

Why would you want to make a 250r slower and add more wieght?

I bet that 350x motor rips, I love my 2 strokes, but a hi-compression big bore/stroked 350x is a serious animal. I bet that motor makes mid 50 horsepower.
