axle play

i was cleaning my quad today and i noticed that the axle had some play in it. im not to familiar with what all is down there but what could be causing all this? i originally thought it was just some bearing down there but it has quite a bit of play (almost an inch up and down) so i dont know if the entire carrier is shot or what. any help on what it could be and prices on what needs replaced would be apperciated.

More than likely it's your axle bearings. C&D can hook you up with bearings or a bearing carrier.

with the way you ride that thing ,your carrier is prolly shot just like what happend to todd.:ermm:

You'll have to take it apart to see if it will accept bearings & the seals to determine if the whole carrier is shot. If the carrier is shot get a RAD or simliar doube wide bearing carrier off ebay. If the carrier isn't shot just get a set at your local honda dealer or cheaper on ebay or rockymountain atv.
