400ex or 450r?

I am wanting to get a quad to ride around on as soon as I sell my boat. I am trying to decide between the 400ex and 450r. Last quad I rode was a blaster I worked on after I did a fair trade. The thing would get it but I am 26 and 180lbs and too big for it lol. anyway I sold the blaster and have been wanting a better quad. I will use it mostly for trail riding, wheelies, ripping around and maybe to get to my hunting spots- not a big thing but if I can I will. I want reliability and little maintenace. I have priced the 400ex, 450r, yfz450, and raptor 700r. The 400ex is the cheapest but I think it will meet my needs, and it seems the best value for what is offered. What sucks is I cant test ride it lol anyway the 400ex stock should be good and later I can add mods for speed. Another thing I was wondering my cousin has a 250 4stk Yamaha would I be abe to beat him on the 400ex? lol I couldnt stand to eat his dirt. I priced a 2007 400ex and they quoted $6500 thanks for helping me with my decision.

that is a little high for a 400ex, i got my 450r out the door for only 200 more than thatback in february... but if you plan on pulling a deer out of the woods with it, you are better off on the 400ex...i have both adn i am selling my 2006 450r to go back to the 400ex...i ride pretty much the same style of riding you do...

Is the yamaha 250 a atv? You should beat him but you won't beat the yamaha yz250f dirtbike. If you are going to buy a 400ex look for a used one you can get one for a good price. 6,500 is way to high for a 400ex. You can get almost brand new ones for 3,500

Off the floor, it'll be around 6k. But you can buy them from others with very little mods for cheaper. My friend is selling a 2003 400ex with alot of mods done to it and he's wanting 2500 for it.
