Major Trans problems.

(I have a 1992 chevy beretta)

ok heres whats going on


i'll start my car an it goes an jumps forward (while in park) an i'll put it in reverse and it will not move just goes to a higher idle when gas is pressed when i put it in nutural on down all it dose is go forward. and some times is dose that in reverse too...i need help ASAP car only has 118,480 on it. :ermm:

Mabye your lenkage is messed up. My dodge dakota did that then I noticed the pin for the linckage was half way out.

Sounds like something more major though

yeah i checked the linkage it move correctly with every gear change..what else could it be?....think the trans is shot?

It has transmission fluid correct?

If so, then it is probably something more major and I would suggest taking it to a shop.

ok thanks for the replies everyone, i droped the trans pan today and am doing a filter an fluid swap ill let u know how it turns out.
