ok, I'm looking into doing some motor work here in the next few months, and I'm looking into a 426 kit but I really don't have any idea what one I should get or even what companies make them...
so anyone that has any experiance is welcome to answer!!
also I pretty much decided that I'm going with a 426, and not anything lower than that or higher than that....

and I already tried searching but the search never works on my computer for some reason....

You basically have 2 good options for doing bore kits of whatever size (406, 416, 426, 440):

Wiseco or JE Pistons

There are a lot of people on here that run one or the other. I originally was going to go with a 11:1 comp Wiseco 416 kit for mine in the near future but changed my mind a while back to the 10.8:1 JE kit because I was hearing better things about JE. You can check out either of their websites for a full application list of all the kits they make for each quad/bike.

I would go with JE i have heard better things about their powersports divison. I think the ppl that go with wiseco because they have a better advertisement either way their both good companys. And if you don't wanna bore you can get a higher compression piston. Also I think you would be more pleased with a 416. Also you don't lose reliability.

I would recommend a JE or Ross 426 with a sleeve

why would I be more pleased with the 416 over the 426??

Both the 416 and the 426 perform well, most people will start with the 416 because it is the best bang for the bucket and then do a new sleeve and 426 later after the 416 is worn out. We build alot of both motors if you are looking at good power increases without spending alot of money then a 10.8:1 416 is great. If you want alot more power than we recommend a 13:1 426 with a new sleeve and HD rod.

ok so I am on a really tight budget, so it would be worth going with the 416 is what I'm getting....so just an estimate but how much might this set me back $$ ???

The 426 is the max bore int he stock sleeve. The sleeve is vary thin and will destort. It is just alot more reliable to install a new sleeve, our sleeve starts at a 426 and can be bore all the way to 445cc

Colby, is there anyway you can give me a price quote on a build of this nature?

426 kit, sleeve, upgraded rod (whichever is the best) and any other things I might need. I'll be doing the head work myself so if you would recommend new valves etc let me know.

I'm so sick of the 400 being slow. I'd like to run about 12:1 so I can mix my race/91 gas.

this will be my first bike motor build and have no clue what to expect as far as pricing.

Also, where are you guys located? I'd be shipping my motor from northern AZ
