Depends on what range you want to improve on.
My favorite all around is the ESR Centermount. Good for mid to high. Excelent for trails and open stuff.
CT makes some nice pipes too.

My deal for the ultimate clutch set up.
Replace one of the steel plates with one from a 400EX clutch & bead blast all metal plates.
CR500 Springs.
One aluminum drain bolt washer ( likes under the drain bolt on the transmission ) under each spring bolt, on the outside, not down in the presure plate.
Any kind or brand of fiber plates, soaked overnight at least.
Maybe a Easy pull clutch lever & new Terminator cable & work those left hand fingers cause that lever will be tuff after the mod.

I do this mod on all my 250R engine builds, it allows the rider to learn how to be in the right gear comming out of the corners.
Most riders when they are in the wrong gear end up fanning the clutch lever comming out & will burn up a set of plates in no time.
After the clutch mod, about one maybe two laps of trying to fan the clutch & those fingers are through, trust me.

Hey, but clutch plates last a long time & cheap ones at that.

I heard alot of good things about the Tusk HD clutch kit for banshees, and I believe they make one for the R, They hold up to quite a bit of power and they are around 40 bucks from rocky mountain.

Best set up as follows:

Hinson Basket
OEM fibers and steel plates
OEM springs or CR500 springs in any motor over 330cc
OEM cable
Works Connection perch

This set up has worked flawlessly for me with 265 powervalves to 350 powervalves.

Good luck,
Doc

Hinsen has a clutch kit that uses 8 plates. It's made for a little abuse and will last longer.

8 plate hinson only useful on large motor applications and hard to find!

My best clutch setup
Hinson outer basket
Hinson inner basket
Hinson presser plate
89 250R needle bearing update kit
OEM fiber plates
OEM steel or OEM CR125 aluminum plates
OEM springs
Motion Pro Terminator cable
OEM CR250 clutch lever + perch w/ easy pull mod by me. Similar to PEP easy pull, but mine works even better.
Straighten the activation lever at the case

This setup is a 2 finger pull that can be worked all day, and handles all the power my 265 PV puts out. Favorite pipe, Sparks TT and MX.

What is the benefit of a hinson basket? How are they better than stock? Also, I have an '86 and was wondering if the honda "clutch update" kit would be beneficial and/or available? Thanks!
