Ok me and my friend (joeb23) are getting into racing and i want to know the different types of racing? (xc,tt, all that )

I kno names like xc but i dont kno waht none of them are?
Can someone break the names down and tell me what they all are.

xc, gncc, cross country- In the woods, mud, water, rocks, tight trees, some have little motocross tracks in them.

motocross, gnc- basicly jumps, whoops.

tt- motocross track without the jumps, flattrack but not in a circle.

flattrack- same as a stockcar track, oval, slick.

I personaly prefer xc. There is somthing about heading out into uncharted teritory that you have never seen before & dont know what will be around the next corner.
