picked up an 88. It needs a bore job, plastic and a lot of tlc. She has been riding a piped 300ex, and wanted more power. So along comes a great steal on an 88 for 260. My question is since it is a stock 88 with stock pipe, etc, just doing the cr head gasket and going to a wiesco piston with stock exhaust a combo? or does using a cr250 head gasket mess up the squish band? And how restrictive is the stock pipe? I have an older dg national pipe laying around. Just doing a budget build for now until she gets to ride it, and likes it. if not she will be sentenced to another four poke, and probably a 450r. She has rode my r a little and didn't have enough time to get used to the wide a-arms and axle but like how much more power it had. I would consider port work but definitly a low and mid. But not to snappy so it would be hard for to ride.
