Anyone ever heard of a Performance Engineering clutch basket for 250R? I just tore my 310cc apart because it's having tranny problems and saw that I have a PE clutch basket. These any good? I noticed there is a lot of grooves on the fingers ... will I be able to get away by filing them smooth or should I go with a new basket?

I've ran the PE before, it will wear just like a Hinson will over time.
You can file the grooves out, but your getting down past the hardness treatment & will wear out alot quicker than before.

Filing will be ok for a get by, but I would go ahead & get a new basket & have on hand.

Thanks Neil.

I'll just file em smooth for now. I've looked around for another billet basket but only found brand new Hinson 200.

Check e bay stores for the PE baskets, you should be able to find one for around 150.00 shpd.

150.00 shipped is a right fair price, I think Magic Racing has them for 189.95.
Is that brand new on e bay.

yeah! go with the P/E basket from motosports. ya cant go wrong with em. i've ran one in my quad for 3 years now with very little sign of wear. the p/e you have in there now has obviously been in there for awhile now, considering its grooved.
