raptor oil problem

i put 3 quarts of oil in my raptor and it was empty it dont smoke so its not rings. so i took of the air lid and it was full of oil so one help

mine only takes 2.5, and in order to get that amount of oil in it, i have to run it so the oil level goes down, and then add more into it???
