Any one else have the dg exhaust-- oval lite?

I just got the full exhaust, i know it doesnt have a spark arrestor but i will put on in with a kit.

Just wanting to see if anyone else has it and if they were happy with it? Im putting it on a 06 400ex. Im hoping its not retarded loud... because we are always riding trails and having to cut through neighborhoods.

Actually, it's annoyingly loud, doesn't give much power but you will notice some. You should have gotten a more trusted brand like HMF, Sparks, or Yoshimura.

I got it put on today, it wasnt as loud as i thought it was going to be. There was a kid who rode with us a couple weeks ago with a full hmf exhaust and i think his may have been louder.

But on another note, im goin to take it off untill i get my jey kit and filter... but what would happen if i didnt jet it right away?

Man i know that it may seem like a good deal but not only are they kinda ugly they are bad sounding. Should of went with an Hmf slip on something of that nature the only thing those are good for in my opinon is to scare the crap out of cats, dogs and small children. Remember you get what you pay for.

Exactly. I dont ever plan to race. We usually trail ride.
Other than that i like it and i think it looks pretty good, I might change it in a few months to somthing that is is forestry stamped so we can ride in atv parks...But, it sounds pretty mean..

I agree, it looks nice and if u got it at a good price it dosent matter. You have to live w/ it so as long as your happy thats all that matters. Keep it polished up and maybe polish up the can a little, but still a good addition to the bike.

What would happen if i didnt jet it? My old dirt bike was allready done, so i didnt need to worry about it.

I do plan to jet it. I just put this on to hear it. But i dont plan to ride it till i get my jet kit... I have to adjust my valves so i planned to do it all at once.....

If you ride it w/o jetting it it'll run lean, probably a lil hot as well. May show some hesitation and popping on deceleration.

Ok, so the little test run i did wont hurt it.
It did pop a little on decel. Is the a certain kind of jet kit to get?
Or should i call DG and ask them what i should run?

It depends on ur elevaion. and u can get certain jets u dont have to buy a whole kit. Have a buddy u know who can do it or a local shop u can trust.

If i were u i would look up and read a lot of info on jetting around the forum. There is tons of info on it. Get very fermiliar w/ the carb and the jetting procedure and do it yourself. You can even post what mods you have somewhere and most people will help you and and give you a good starting point of what jets to start w/.

I had a bad experience w/ having a shop jet my bike. They went off a "chart" that they have for jetting. But w/ the mods on my bike its kinda hard to go off a so called chart. To make a long story short i waisted 60$ for them to jet my bike VERY lean and the oil temp im sure was over or very close to 300*.

Start learning how to jet it now when it should be pretty easy and you have light mods so when you get more into heavy motor mods you dont have to rely on some shop to do it and hope they do it correctly.

I know i can jet it myself, ive done valve adjustment and some other stuff to other bikes... I rode street bikes for a long time and have changed carbs and jets before...

Just need to find out the jets that i need. I dont plan on getting any motor mods... Maybe just a rev box after this stuff but that ll be the extent of it.

Anyone know what size jets i should use? Im on the east coast and all i plan to do is a filter and my full exhaust...

Stock is a K148, since you still have a stock filter run to your dealer and grab a few jets. Id pick up a 152, 155, and a 160. Theyre only $3.00 a peice so you wont loose to much, plus they should let you return the ones you dont need.

I recently installed the same slip on you have w/ K&N filter. I live in new englad (no idea on the elevation) I used a 42 pilot and a 160. and she is maintaining a good temp, good acceleration, and smooth cold day starting. Just a starting point for reference.

So how many jets should i buy?

We are right around sea level...

I'm at sea level to below sea level, before my engine mods i had a 155 main and 42 pilot, but I had a slip-on, A 158 with 42 pilot, needle on 3rd clip from top, 2 1/2 turns out air/fuel screw should be almost spot on.

JetsRus.com sells a jetkit, comes with stainless steel float screws to replace the stock brass ones.

I rode today with the exhaust on and not jetting it, it didnt backfire and i did notice more power... it really woke up.
It is loud but its deep/... i like it alot.

My brother just put on his full yosh system and in the instruction booklet it said if he used the same filter and didnt modify his air box he could just use stock jetting.

His was just as loud as mine, But he can change out the spark arrestor to make it quiet and louder... So i may be changing my pipe..
