The easy answer to your question is yes - a 300ex shock will fit on a 400ex, and I would bet a 250ex shock would too. A 400ex shock will not, however, fit onto a 300ex without fabricating a taller upper shock mount.

The 300ex shocks would be your best bet to lower your 400. I think the 250ex shocks would be too low!

Your going to lower about 2".

I think 250R shocks are about an inch shorter then 400EX stock shocks. And u really wouldnt be losing much travel.

250r shocks sound good i am just looking for a cheeper way to replace my stock blown shocks with something that will make my quad handel better and sit a little lower

I just wouldnt go too low with it if u are leaving the back stock. Then u will get into the problem of the back end getting skaty because too much weight is on the front end. i personally dont mind having a higher front end. the 400EX isnt going to handle much better then it already does unless u wanna go aftermarket setups. And another bad hting about moving more weight up front is feeling the bumps alot more. Just something to think about. Having a higher front end really isnt going to hurt steering, i would be more worried about getting the back end to squat. Thats only my opinion

i would lower the back end too i dont want to flip over the handelbarrs when i go down a hill

would raptor, banshee, or any other make / model quad shocks work and lower the front a bit
