I am looking at possibly getting maier plastic to replace my stock junk. On the Maier Manufacturing (http://www.maier-mfg.com/shop.cfm?action=list&page=list.cfm&criteria=101&makeid=10&modelid=173) website, I found the front fender I want, and the hood to go with it. but I have a 2002 400EX and the description says it is for a '05 or later model. Will it actually fit? I like the style...

What about the possibility of cutting the stock plastic to fit the hood? I could deal with that if it would work, then I'd just cut the fenders a bit, too..

Anyone tried anything like this?

Thanks!

Those are for the new 400EX's that look like the 450Rs, if you didnt already know, I would go to a dealership and check one out and compare it to yours. As long as all the mounts are the same and the frame is the same (which it probably is) then all you have to worry about is it lining up with the tank and the rear fenders, so you may need to buy all the plastics and tank for the new 05-up 400EXs.

they make a kit that fits the 05' or newer 400ex plastics on the older 400exs.Look in the 400ex info. forum and im sure you could find it.

you cant just buy '05' plastic, there is a conversion kit to make the old style look like the new style. it even comes with a fake reverse switch. I saw them on ebay going for 500 bucks. IMO no where near worth it
